The add-ons on that are wild. I paid $155 for the illuminated door sills and $11 for aftermarket mud guards. Crazy difference.

How on earth did you get it so cheap?

Toyota has Black Friday sales on parts every year. I found a dealer that had already discounted the sills to $207, and then Toyota gave an extra 25% off. One year I even got a new OEM hybrid battery for my old Prius for $1600 when the dealer wanted $5k. Installed it myself in a few hours.

I wish I had waited… I was desperate for the entertainment system and the digital rear-view mirror, and this was the only car available in two weeks with those options.
@Nova
In the end, a few hundred bucks won’t matter if you got what you wanted. Congrats on your car .
That’s a nice deal. I’m getting 57k out-the-door for a Limited model with just the entertainment and digital mirror options.
If they let you remove the floor mats, I’d go for it. You can get 3W mats for $135 on Black Friday. They cover the area between the door and seat track in the back. The tri-fold cargo mat is $165 tops at most dealers.
@Ziv
I don’t think they will since it’s factory-installed and already about to be delivered in 10 days.
All-weather floor liners should cost around $260.

Exactly. $400+ is way too much, especially since 3W ones are better quality for a quarter of the price.
How are you getting it for 57k out-the-door when the MSRP is 55.3k? Did you get it below MSRP, or is your sales tax really that low? In SoCal, tax (8.5%), title, and license add up to at least 5k. Mats and door sills are double what I’m seeing, but I’m getting quotes for 62k OTD here, so I’d still go for it knowing factory-installed options aren’t usually negotiable. DM me if you want some comparison specs.
@Bennett
I’m in NC, and our state tax is just 3%. Add-ons seem to cost more here than in other states. I also couldn’t add extras like the fridge or vacuum box, which was disappointing.

The Toyota ‘Build Your Own’ feature is misleading. It’s not like Tesla where they custom-build your car. Toyota just builds what they think will sell and sends it to dealers. I’ve never seen a Limited model with a fridge—only Platinums. You pretty much have to take what’s available or wait for something close to what you want.
@Bennett
I just paid 65k out-the-door in Santa Clarita, CA.

It’s a Platinum model.
I paid 65k for a Platinum model. Looks like you got a better deal.
In Maryland with tax, it’s 62k. I’m about to buy one with almost the same specs.

That’s wild.
Go for it. I had to pay 5k over MSRP during peak COVID, and I’m still annoyed about it.
