We left Utah a few days ago, now about 500 miles into Baja California. This truck is handling everything like a champ—potholes, rough roads, you name it. I love the better range compared to my 2015. Averaging about 16 mpg right now, but we’re carrying nearly 2000 extra pounds with people, dogs, gear, and an inflatable boat. So far, I’m beyond impressed with this Gen 3.

Awesome truck! I love mine too. Drives like a dream.
Heads up, though—the gen 2+ haters are probably gonna show up soon. They can’t handle that so many of us are happy with our gen 3s.
Still have my 2015, and it’s an amazing truck. The off-road capabilities and acceleration of the gen 3 really stand out. Feels like having the best of both worlds. Hard to hate on someone who owns and loves both generations!
@Kumi
I get you! I wasn’t warning you specifically—more like a heads-up about the usual internet trolls. I had a gen 1 and now a gen 3, and I’ve enjoyed Toyota all the way. Sure, there were some bumps in the road, but the gen 3 power and drivetrain are a whole new level. Glad we’re both enjoying it!

How’s the camper top working with the cameras?
Honestly, with the camper and box on, visibility is tough—especially with the bed packed to the roof. Without the box, the backup and surround cameras work fine. The top-of-cabin camera is always blocked, but I’ve been thinking about running it to the back of the shell. Still figuring that out.
