What does this warning light mean? Brake symbol blinking

I started my car, and suddenly this warning light appeared along with the service and check engine lights. The tire pressure light has been on for a while, but now there’s another one that looks like a foot on a brake pedal, and it keeps blinking.

Does anyone know what it means?

Found this explanation:

“This warning light turns on when the brake and accelerator are pressed at the same time. It prevents the brakes from working properly. If the light is flashing, there may be an issue with the Brake Override system, and you should get it checked as soon as possible.”

Wouldn’t it be possible to make it so the accelerator can’t be pressed if the brake is down?

Some cars already do that. My old Cruze had an electronic throttle that cut power if the brake was pressed.

Nissan’s VDC system does the same thing—cuts power when both pedals are pressed at once.

Thanks! No idea why it came on out of nowhere, though.

Check your floor mat! If it’s not installed correctly, it can press the gas pedal and cause issues.

Yeah, Toyota had big problems with that back in 2009.

Sometimes a check engine light can trigger other warning lights. Your car’s system might be in a ‘safe mode’ until the issue is fixed.

Could it mean the brakes aren’t working? Anyone know?

It’s a warning to drive with one foot instead of two. If you press the brake and gas at the same time, this light will come on.

Check your brake lights. I had the same issue on my Hilux, and it turned out one of my brake bulbs was burned out.

If your check engine light is on too, you should have a mechanic check the codes. That will tell you what’s really going on.

Might be time to check your gas pedal or sensors.

If more warning lights keep coming on, you might want to stop driving and get it checked ASAP.
