What is the best year for naturally aspirated TRD models

I drive a 2014 Camry LE and I really enjoy it. I’ll admit, I sometimes push it a little hard. It’s a fun ride and I have to confess that I like to hit the limiter or stay just below it when I find some open road (my limit is like 115 so it’s not too crazy!). I’ve been thinking about getting a Camry TRD, but I’ve heard that the Avalon TRD offers a more traditional interior setup. I’m curious about which naturally aspirated year is considered the best in terms of reliability rather than luxury features. I’m not really into hybrids because I want to feel that 3.5 roar!

The Avalon TRD was made only in the last two years, 2020 and 2021. Both are 5th generation and pretty similar. All Avalons come with naturally aspirated engines from the factory. And just so you know, the limiter is higher than 115 :wink:

@Luchivya
I have a 3rd generation (06), and my limiter goes up to 135. Not sure what it is on the 5th generation.

I have a 5th generation and it’s still 135.

Isn’t it the same engine as the Camry?

My hybrid 2021 Avalon is limited to 115, lol

I believe the Avalon has more horsepower than the Camry.

The Avalon TRD has the same horsepower as the Camry TRD. So it really just depends on which car you prefer to drive.
