I am curious about what the slot next to the hand brake is for in my 2006 Toyota Yaris. Any suggestions on how to use it? Thanks
It’s just for general storage. My phone fits there perfectly

Oh got it, thanks
Yeah it’s another example of the Yaris team trying to make use of every little space. Too small for 10 cupholders though lol

For real. The Yaris has those closeable cup holders by the window which are awesome
@Denim
Exactly! Passengers are always surprised to see I have 3 cupholders in this tiny car plus 2 bottle holders in the doors

I really don’t get why this feature isn’t on all cars!

If you have the five door model, there are 2 more bottle holders in the back doors, making it 7 in total
@Juno
I have the 2DHB model and I have 7 too
@Denim
But it can be tricky if you want a hot drink in summer or a cold one in winter

I haven’t really dealt with that issue, but I think it’s because I don’t do long drives

Looks like a perfect size for a half-empty Kool-Aid jammer
@Daryn
I was thinking it would be a perfect fit for a small McDonald’s fry

No offense to Toyota, but fancier cars often have an armrest that opens for storage and cup holders behind the hand brake
It’s meant for your phone, but you’ll probably end up leaving your phone in the car because of it

Haha true
It might be a reversible insert for left or right hand drive
