What is this thing for? Need help!

Trying to figure out what this thing in my car is…anyone know?

Back in the day, people paid for parking spots or tolls with these little metal circles that had symbols stamped on them. They kept them in slots in their cars, which could only hold a few at a time unless you squished them in.

@Jones
Haha, I’d love a tutorial from you on how to pull up your pants!

Two legs at once!!

@Jones
Those little metal circles were probably why so many car windows got broken back then.

@Jones

Hey, family cars used to have ashtrays in the back seats so everyone could light up!

Doctors even prescribed cocaine back then if they thought you had ‘ghosts in your blood’!

Ah, the original Coca Cola.

And 7-Up had lithium in it to keep you from ‘feeling low’.

And if your car was super fancy, every seat had its own cigarette lighter.

@Jones
Oh yeah, I remember bringing four of those to school just to buy an ice cream.

@Jones
Yep, and back then nickels had pictures of bumblebees on them. You’d say, ‘Give me five bees for a quarter!’ And I had an onion in my belt, which was the style at the time.

@Jones
You had to pay a nickel for the ferry, and yep, nickels had bees on 'em. ‘Five bees for a quarter!’ And, of course, we wore onions on our belts. Big yellow ones only because of the war…

@Jones
So you mean coins… printed metal?
