What’s the best coolant for a 2024 Forester?

Hey folks, looking for recommendations on coolant for my 2024 Forester. I live in Ontario, and it can get down to -15°C. Should I go for anti-freeze coolant or is regular coolant enough? Thanks in advance!

I’m in Maine and I only trust Subaru blue super coolant. It’s been great in cold weather.

Same here! A Subaru mechanic once told me that using the wrong coolant can lead to head gasket issues. Stick to the Subaru blue, it’s definitely worth it.

Good to know, thanks! Is it only available at Subaru dealers? Amazon is out of stock.

You can try SubiSpeed or online Subaru dealers. If you have a local dealer, you might save on shipping.

You need antifreeze coolant for sure, especially in freezing temperatures. Without it, your engine block could crack. Most coolants come premixed, but if you get concentrated, remember to dilute it with distilled water.

Thanks for the detailed explanation!

Always go OEM if you’re unsure. Better safe than sorry, especially in cold weather.

Yeah, I’m leaning towards the Subaru OEM based on everyone’s advice. Thanks!

I got the OEM coolant from Amazon, might be worth checking again.
