What’s the biggest tires I can put on a 22 Tundra?

Like the title says… I’ve been looking around on this forum and other places, but most of what I’ve found is just people saying stuff like, ‘I run this with a 2-inch lift and aftermarket wheels.’ I just want to know the biggest tires I can fit on a stock SR5. Appreciate any help!

A lot of people will say they run 35s stock with no rub, but I’m telling you, that’s just not true. I had 295/70/18s (34.3") with a 1.5 level, and they still rubbed on the frame extensions at full lock. I ended up going with a 3.5-inch kit, and they’re still close. You probably shouldn’t go much bigger than a 275 or 285 if you’re keeping the stock suspension. Unless you’re okay with cutting off those frame extensions, but I wouldn’t suggest that since they’re a safety feature.

@JeffPatterson
I’ll probably stick with a 275 then. The stock tires just look too small on this truck. What 1.5 level did you use? I might grab one too.

I used the Rough Country M1 leveling struts. They come preset to 2 inches, but I set them down to 1.5 because I didn’t want to put too much stress on the upper ball joints. Now I’ve got the Rough Country M1 3.5-inch kit. People give RC a hard time on this forum, but I’ve been happy with them so far.

How good are you with a sawzall and grinder?

Yeah, I’m not planning to do any cutting :joy:.

I’m running 295/70 r18 on 18x9 wheels with a +25 offset. No rubbing at all.

A lot of the rubbing issues come down to the wheel offset. You should look into what offsets people are using to avoid rubbing.
