What’s the correct torque for Prius wheel bolts?

Hey everyone, I’m trying to figure out the proper torque for my Prius wheel bolts. I’ve seen a few numbers floating around, but I’m not sure which one is accurate. Anyone know the right value?

I read somewhere that it’s 103 Nm. You can also convert that to ft-lbs or in-lbs if you prefer, but Nm seems easier.

Yeah, it’s 103 Nm for sure. Just make sure you tighten them in a star pattern, starting from the center. That helps distribute the pressure evenly.

Totally agree. Also, if you’re using a torque wrench, double-check the settings. It’s easy to mix up ft-lbs and Nm.

I’ve been using 103 Nm on my 2016 Prius, and it’s worked great. No issues so far.

Good to know. I just got a torque wrench, so I’ll try that. Thanks for sharing.

Fun fact: 103 Nm is about 76 ft-lbs. I stick with Nm too because it saves the hassle of converting and possibly messing it up.

Exactly. Converting between units can be a pain. Plus, most torque wrenches I’ve seen have Nm as the default.

I messed up the conversion once and overtightened my bolts. Learned my lesson and just use Nm now. No more guesswork.
