What should I do if alcohol wipes made it worse?

Hi everyone, I used alcohol wipes on my screen to remove what I thought were water marks, but now the situation is worse. Any advice on how to fix this?

Try using a hairdryer to heat up the marks. They’re kind of like the stains left on paint after bird poop, which can be removed with a heat gun.

Please avoid using a heat gun on your screen though.

**Fixed autocorrect, I meant marks, not madrid

@Tilden
Thanks, I’ll give that a try .

Let us know if it works out for you .

You could try using a headlight buffer, that’s the only other thing I can think of.

You can try wiping it hard with a microfiber cloth. It might help, but I’m not sure.

I tried that but it didn’t work.

Oh, that’s unfortunate. You might need to replace the piece.

@Yule
You can also use Lysol wipes followed by a dry cloth right away.

It had water marks before, but when I used the alcohol wipe, it made it worse. The water marks are also on my speedometer plastic now.

RIP to the plastic piece.

As a detailer, I can say that plastic piece is beyond saving.

Oh well, I guess there’s not much I can do.

Yeah, it’s gone for good. I ruined a pair of safety glasses once cleaning grease off with alcohol.

I was given a free dashboard cleaner, but so far, I’ve only used a damp microfiber cloth. Does anyone know if that cleaner works for faux leather too?

You could try using Polywatch paste, it should help: https://amzn.eu/d/6m4gQvD
