A REMOVABLE REAR WINDOW! Imagine how useful it would be if the rear window could be removed easily. Such a missed opportunity in terms of practicality.
Or just have it go down like the rear window in my 79 Caprice Classic.

Yeah, 70s and 80s wagon tech would be awesome for that tailgate. It would be cool if it went down instead of up though.

With the way cars are getting boxy again, maybe we’ll see something like that soon.

Could happen with an EV. Otherwise, exhaust fumes might be a problem with a rear window that moves.

Toyota doesn’t seem to care about CO poisoning apparently

Well, I guess that theory’s out the window. Haha, thanks for the laugh!
It would be great if the rear window opened like the Ford SportTrac. It moved up and down like the side windows, and was almost the entire window. Probably the cost is the reason it’s not done.
Being able to permanently turn off the driver alert system so it stops warning me when I look at a corn field would be great.

I thought you could block it with a piece of tape?

Wait, what? I have a 24 and haven’t had that issue. Is this only on the Wilderness edition?
Every car with a hatchback would benefit from a window that opens (whether it rolls down or the top half opens, anything). It’s crazy to me that this feature is gone, and it’s part of why I might have to get a pickup to fit in my small garage. That just doesn’t make sense.
A tailgate-style opening would be even better. But a rear window that flips up like my old Highlander did would be great too.

Exactly! It’s so much easier to pop the top half and load groceries rather than deal with a big gullwing door.

The Land Cruiser/Range Rover style tailgate would be the ultimate setup.
@oddah
Yes, that would be amazing.
Bring back the climate control buttons like my 16 model. And also, remove or permanently disable the auto stop-start system.
The independent rear glass was a great feature on my Pontiac Vibe.
I’ve thought about this for so long. If the rear window rolled down like in Toyotas, they would be nearly perfect cars.
I wish the interior floor wasn’t carpet. I really miss my Honda Element for that reason. Sadly, it seems like all cars use carpet now.
