Which body type do you prefer more Gen 2 or Gen 3?

I prefer Gen 2. I have one and I really like it. The Gen 3 looks nice too.

Are you comparing those two cars in the picture? The one on the right isn’t a Yaris as far as I know… it’s a Scion iM/Corolla Hatch

The Scion/Corolla is also known as Auris in Europe. The station wagon is a reliable family car. I think the person who posted this meant to compare the P09 with the P13 because of the more angular lines. I have a 2012 manual 6-speed 1.33 liter.

I prefer Gen 2. I have one and I love how it looks from the front.

@jefferson
Yours is a third gen, the car in the photo is a Corolla hatch

Oh yeah, it is… lol I think they had a facelift in 2015.

@jefferson
A 3-door, nice :blush:

Thanks!

Yours is the correct one. It’s the third gen non-facelift version.

There are 3 versions of the third gen: yours, second facelift, and third facelift which weren’t sold in states.

After 2019, it was briefly based on Mazda 2. In Europe and other parts of the world, they got the fourth gen Yaris, which even has the GR Yaris super hatch.

Gen 2 all the way! The car feels different. I sold mine due to high mileage and then bought a Gen 3, but I really miss my Gen 2 because of the cupholders.

The cup holders are placed perfectly in Gen 2. :ok_hand::ok_hand:

I have the second gen. It looks great and seems ready to perform well.

I’m sorry that this matches up with a Scion iM (I still see it as a Yaris/Corolla hatch). I was a Toyota technician for almost a year and that’s my black Gen 2. Great group here! Thanks for all the feedback! It’s fun to read your comments. :slight_smile:

@frank

I love how big the first gen was, lol.

I have a Gen 2 and it’s great! I feel like there’s less to worry about. I drive in tough conditions on 4x4 roads and live in the mountains. I’ve got 228k miles on it and I think most of it is still original.

Gen 2. Gen 3 looks like any other ordinary sedan.
