I need to top up my coolant but I’m confused because people keep saying to use the Peak Asian pink stuff, and then some say it needs to be HOAT. The only one I see in stores says it’s POAT but says it’s fine for my car. Is it really okay or not? I don’t wanna mess anything up just trying to do a simple top off.
Yeah I saw that too. The Peak bottle says P-OAT, but I think they actually mean P-HOAT. Kinda confusing. OAT and HOAT shouldn’t be mixed, so you gotta be careful. P-HOAT is what Toyota usually goes with, just has phosphate added to help with corrosion. I ended up using Zerex Asian Red in mine, it clearly says P-HOAT and I’ve had no issues so far. If others used it and their cars are fine, I guess it’s safe.
