Which Toyotas are made in the U.S.?

I came across a useful infographic on a dealership’s site. This could be handy for anyone considering a U.S.-built Toyota. https://www.warrentontoyota.com/find-toyotas-made-america/

Toyota Motor Manufacturing Kentucky (TMMK)

This plant, established in 1986, was Toyota’s first fully-owned U.S. factory and remains the largest outside Japan. It’s known for producing the Camry, Camry Hybrid, Avalon, Avalon Hybrid, and Venza.

Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indiana (TMMI)

Located in Gibson County, Indiana, this plant started in 1996 to build full-size pickups but later shifted to SUVs like the Highlander, Sequoia, and Sienna.

Toyota Motor Manufacturing Mississippi (TMMMS)

Located in Blue Springs, Mississippi, this plant initially planned to produce the Highlander but switched to making the Corolla starting in 2011.

Toyota Motor Manufacturing Texas (TMMTX)

Based in San Antonio, Texas, this facility specializes in Toyota’s full-size pickups, including the Tacoma and Tundra.

Final assembly matters, but keep in mind that parts manufacturing is an international process.

Some of these details are outdated. For example, TMMI now produces the Sienna, Highlander, Grand Highlander, and Lexus TX.

This information is from 2013 and no longer accurate. The Avalon isn’t produced anymore, the Sequoia now comes from Texas, and the Tacoma is made in Mexico.

Three years ago isn’t ‘many years’ in my opinion. You can still find 2022 TRD Avalons.

@Skyler
Fair point. The last Avalon rolled out in 2022. I still think the data shared by the OP is outdated, though.

True. My 2023 Venza came with a Japanese VIN.

RAV4 hybrids are made in Kentucky too.

Yes, mine was built there.

You can check the VIN before buying. Vehicles built in the U.S. have VINs that start with 1, 4, or 5.

That’s very interesting.

I recall another article mentioning Toyota and Honda considering pulling out of U.S. manufacturing if tariffs were imposed.

RAV Hybrids and Camrys are made at my Kentucky plant. We’ve got a new electric vehicle coming next year, and it looks like overtime will be plenty.
