Hi everyone,
I’ve got a 2012 Toyota Yaris MK3 1.3L manual. The driver-side vent doesn’t blow warm air, but all the other vents (middle and passenger side) work fine. Coolant levels are good, and I’ve checked the radiator too. What could be the problem?
What happens if you close the other vents?

I haven’t tried that yet… would warm air from the closed vents redirect to the one that’s open?

That’s the idea. Closing the other vents will help figure out if the driver-side vent is blocked.
@Keelan
I tried closing the other vents, but the driver-side vent still blows cold air while the rest produce warm air.

That’s strange. All the vents are connected. If the others are blowing warm air and you close them, the driver-side vent should get the warm flow.
What settings are you using on the climate controls? Can you upload a picture of the panel?
@Keelan
I tried again today. Left the car running for 10 minutes with heat at max. Closed all vents except the driver-side one, but it’s still cold. The air pressure is also weaker compared to the other vents. Here’s a picture of my climate controls: Climate control pic.

Sounds like a specific issue with that vent. You might need a mechanic to check it. They could inspect for blockages or see if the blend door system isn’t working properly.
It’s unusual since these systems are usually quite reliable. Out of curiosity, does your car have a cabin filter? Have you checked it recently?
@Keelan
Yes, there’s a cabin filter, but I haven’t checked it yet. I bought the car a month ago, and the dealer said they did a full service. Could it be related to the filter?

If you just got the car, I’d take it back to the dealer and have them check the vent.
It’s worth checking the cabin filter too. Sometimes it can cause issues you wouldn’t expect.
@Keelan
Turns out the cabin filter might be the problem. I couldn’t see light through it. Cabin filter pic. I’ve ordered a new one, so fingers crossed it fixes it!

A clogged cabin filter could definitely reduce airflow. Let us know if the new one solves the issue!
If closing the good vents makes warm air come out of the problem vent, there might be a blockage in the tubes.
If closing them doesn’t fix it, it could be an issue with the blend door system.
Either way, it might require pulling the dash apart since the HVAC system is usually buried under there.
