Will the Grand Highlander be available worldwide?

I live in Saudi, and we only have the normal Highlander here.

I talked with my dad about it, and he said there’s no chance it’ll come to Saudi because it’s only in the American market.

Really hope it’ll come over because it’s the only SUV I’m interested in!

Why go for the Grand Highlander when you could get a full-size Land Cruiser (J300)? Isn’t the Land Cruiser available in the Middle East?

It’s a similar size, looks similar, and is tougher. People here are actually upset that the J300 isn’t available in the US.

@Terryanne
I get it—the Land Cruiser is awesome, but the GH and LC are different types of SUVs. Some people might prefer a unibody SUV like the GH over a traditional body-on-frame LC.

There’s also the mid-size Land Cruiser (J250), which is sold in many markets.

@Terryanne
I’m looking for something smaller and more affordable because I plan on getting a sports car around $76k.

The Grand Highlander seems perfect, but it’s not available here. You guys are lucky to have the Tacoma, Tundra, and Sequoia.

@Florence
There’s a smaller Land Cruiser model, the J250, or Prado in some markets. Maybe look into that?

Yeah, I know about the Prado, but I’ve heard mixed things about the engine. I’d go for a naturally aspirated 4-cylinder if they had it, but there isn’t one without a turbo. It’s also smaller than the Grand Highlander, but at least it’s a solid SUV.

@Terryanne
The LC is great, but it’s pricey in Saudi—over $100,000 USD. Not everyone wants to spend that much on a family SUV.

The Grand Highlander would likely cost just as much if it were imported from the US.

It’s unlikely, since it’s built in the US for the American market. But hey, you guys get plenty of cool cars we don’t get here because of our emission rules. A lot of us are jealous of your options.

And we’re jealous of the Sequoia, Tundra, and Tacoma!

It’s funny, we all want what we can’t have—you guys want the J300, Land Cruiser 70s, and Hilux, while we want the Tundra, Tacoma, and Sequoia :disappointed:.

Haha, in the West, we’d call this a ‘first world problem.’ Look it up—it might give you a laugh.

Highlanders are only built in Scotland! It takes a strong Scottish lass to bring one to life.
