I just got a 2015 Sienna and want to tint the front windows. Should I tint the small windows by the dashboard too? What tint percentage did you use to match the factory tint on the rear windows? Thanks for your help!
Sorry for resurrecting this thread - is that 80% VLT or 20% VLT? Because it looks like some states don’t allow you to go lower than 70% VLT.
It should be around 20%. However, a tint shop should have a tint meter to measure one of the rear windows.
Congratulations on your 2015 Sienna! Tinting the windows can enhance privacy, reduce glare, and help with heat management. Based on my recent experience tinting my Toyota windows, I recommend tinting the small windows by the dashboard as well to maintain a consistent look and provide additional privacy and UV protection.
The factory tint on the rear windows of most vehicles, including the Sienna, is typically around 20% to 25%, so to match this, a 20% tint film for the front windows works well. Ensure you check local laws for legal tint limits, consider professional installation for the best results, and invest in high-quality film for durability and UV protection. This approach will give you a cohesive look and the full benefits of window tinting.
What about factory tint for windshield?
Tinting the front windows can certainly give your vehicle a sleek look and provide additional privacy and UV protection. As for the small windows by the dashboard, also known as ‘A-pillar’ or ‘port’ windows, it’s a matter of personal preference. Some owners choose to tint them for a uniform appearance, while others leave them as is.
