An NX350h might be a good choice. It’s often priced similarly to the RAV4s sold on the West Coast.
That’s encouraging. I’ve been hesitant about Lexus due to the cost.
If you’re looking at certified pre-owned for $45k, it might be worth just buying new. A well-equipped NX350 is around $53k. Over the course of a loan, the monthly payments wouldn’t be much different.

$53k is more than we’re able to spend right now. I wish we could!
The base model is closer to $46k. Since you mentioned $45k used, the monthly payments might actually be similar if you went for a new one. Something to consider.

In the Midwest, prices seem more reasonable. I’ve seen people pay over $54k for a RAV4 Hybrid Limited on the coasts. Shopping in the Midwest might be worth considering.

That’s surprising. When we bought our RAV4 Hybrid in 2019, it had 4,000 miles and was a base model. The price was around $27,000.

I just checked the current price. The RAV4 Hybrid Limited is listed at $40,205, but that’s MSRP.

Try the RX. It’s bigger than the NX and still easy to handle in parking lots.
I had an NX as a loaner once while my RX was serviced. The RX felt much more like a proper Lexus—smooth and quiet. The NX was fine, but not quite the same experience.
The Venza rides like a Lexus at a lower cost. It’s discontinued after 2024, but the newer models have updated infotainment and all come as hybrids. Insurance and gas costs should also be lower with the Venza compared to the NX.
