I also hate that when you’re changing the volume, you can accidentally change the GPS or infotainment volume if an alert pops up at the same time.

We’re new to Subaru, and the text alerts with Android Auto come in super loud even when the music isn’t that high.

If I get two map alerts back-to-back, the second one comes in at full music volume… usually when I’m merging onto a highway.
I hate how much the screen brightness changes at night.

Do you mean when adjusting the volume or when it gets dark outside?

When adjusting the volume. It dims the screen, at least when I have navigation up. My Google Maps doesn’t seem to switch to night mode.
Car companies make the worst software decisions. It’s crazy!
I hate how when I’m on a call, the digital speedometer disappears. Phones are distracting enough, and now I can’t even see my speed while on a call? Come on.

Órale…
Almost as bad as having 19 as the middle and 38 as the top volume. Subaru engineers, who hurt you?
I hate that I can’t drag and move the screen in Google Maps!

You can if you use Android Auto.

That’s an Apple issue.

My friend’s ‘22 Crosstrek could do it with a wireless Carlink dongle, but my ‘23 Forester can’t. Anyone else having this issue?
@Jean
On my ‘24 with Apple CarPlay, I’m stuck using the arrows.
It bugs me, but my wife doesn’t even notice it.
It’s so annoying. Haven’t quite figured out the sweet spot for the EQ on my ‘22 Sport either.
I don’t mind the volume screen, but having 19 as the middle volume point is ridiculous.
