Anyone else find the volume display super annoying?

I don’t mind the volume screen, but having 19 as the middle volume point is ridiculous.

Agreed, the middle should always be an even number.

Does anyone else’s radio knob jump around when you turn it?

What do you mean? Does it physically move?

You might have dirt stuck in the knob or a loose connection.

I have three big issues with the volume control:

  1. It takes up way too much of the screen.
  2. You can’t do anything else on the screen while it’s up.
  3. There’s a slight bump in volume right after you change it.

When I change the volume from 5 to 6, it adjusts immediately, but then there’s a slight increase after the volume display goes away. Same when going down from 6 to 5. I’ve tried every setting to fix this, but no luck. I even asked the dealer, and they said it’s just how it works.

Oh my god, yes! You’re driving on a busy road, watching the map, and lower the volume to concentrate, then boom, the whole screen is blocked for way too long.

Yes! And why can’t I preset a power-on volume? I had that on my home theater receiver 15 years ago.

Bring back all the knobs and buttons! Keep the screen for cameras only.

Así es!

The whole screen needs a redesign, with feedback from actual owners, not just engineers.

While we’re complaining, Subaru really needs to get rid of those cheap, shiny black plastic panels.

The volume screen only lasts a couple of seconds.

That’s a few seconds too long when I’m trying to figure out which lane I need to be in on a busy bridge!

Turning down the volume so you can see better… Been there, done that.

@Briar
Especially with CarPlay. It’s literally blocking what I need to see.

It’s about 3 seconds on my ‘24. Still too long.

I have a ‘23 Forester, and it doesn’t bother me much. Maybe I’m just used to it.

It’s also annoying that when your phone is connected via Bluetooth, it doesn’t show the full name of the artist or song on the screen.

First thing I did after getting my car was replace the head unit with a Joying Auto 10” screen. Best decision ever! Mainly use it for wireless CarPlay, but it’s powerful enough to run Mario 64 and YouTube smoothly.
