Does it show the yellow error icon on the dash when installed?
If you mean the one showing it’s disabled, then yes.

I installed this: Amazon link. No issues at all.

That’s the one I have too. Installed in seconds and never touched it again.

This one’s great because you can install it without any extra tools. Takes about five minutes.
I bought this off-brand one: Amazon link. Instructions weren’t great, but it works once you figure it out.
I considered getting one, but my 2025 Forester’s wiring is connected to the front cameras, and I didn’t want to mess with that.

I got one that worked well at first but kept turning on the climate control sync. Ended up returning it.
The models without the power tap are super easy to use. Just plug it in and you’re done. Took me about two minutes.
There’s a replacement switch on Amazon that disables it unless you push the button to turn it back on. Easy to install and works great.
Do you still need an AGM battery after installing this, or can you switch to a regular one?
I was thinking about getting one but wasn’t confident enough to mess with the camera wiring.

Doesn’t it just connect behind the button?

I saw a video where they were pulling apart the camera area.
@Harlan
That’s for dash cams, usually.

In newer models without a physical switch, it’s in the overhead area.

No need to touch the camera. Just a small device that plugs in below the button and takes care of everything.
I bought one from Amazon. It works most of the time, like 85%, but it’s still a big improvement.
