I want to confirm these details so I can tell if dealers are being honest with me… Thanks
Factory options, Distributor options, and Port options can only be changed by dealer request before production and might be approved or not. Dealer installed options are negotiable, but it depends if they are already installed.
@Verne
Thanks for the info
@Verne
I agree with this. People often say the allotment is fixed, but if you work with the dealer early enough, changes can sometimes be made for all options.
I believe only Dealer installed options are negotiable. I doubt any dealers will negotiate Port installed options, but Factory installed options are definitely not negotiable.

Got it. So the extra packages will be installed when the car is shipped, and if I want one without them, I need to find one that was built without those packages?
@Alexander
That’s right, tell the dealer what packages and options you want, and they might help you find one in their allocations.
I was able to negotiate port installed options before.

Good to know, thanks! I figured at least those should be negotiable, like charging cables and similar items.
The dealer I’m dealing with insists that all 25 platinum models must have rear entertainment. I think that sounds unreasonable. What do you think?

Is that feature standard on that trim? Maybe someone with more knowledge can share their thoughts.
@Alexander
I checked a 24 model last week that didn’t have rear seat entertainment. It’s listed in my allocation for $1400. Honestly, it’s something I would use with my teens. It would be better if it had two screens, but I really don’t need it.
@Will
I’ve heard from others on this forum that it isn’t great. There’s no DVD capability and it’s difficult to connect many devices.

It’s a standard feature on the Platinum models, just like the fridge and vacuum.
I have a follow-up question: can the 1500w adapter be installed at the dealer? If it ships without it, can it be added later?

No, it can only be factory installed. If you try to add it later, it will be much more expensive due to the labor involved in opening and closing the trim.

The 1500W adapter is a factory option and is only available with the Plus Package, which is also factory only.
@Teo
Thanks for clearing that up. Is this the case for both the XLE and XSE?

Yes, that should be true for both according to the Toyota Sienna website builder. We were deciding between the XLE and XSE too, but the XSE was going to be over $2K more because we prefer the exterior styling. We needed an 8 Passenger model, so we went with XLE. The painted bumpers and brake lights on the XSE look much nicer.
@Teo
The 1500w inverter is now an option for trims that don’t have it as standard or as part of a package. It’s $300.
