Are Toyota and Lexus really that reliable? Anyone here have issues?

I’ve heard a lot of people say Toyota and Lexus are some of the most reliable cars out there. But does anyone have firsthand experience with them? Any problems or is it all smooth driving?

They’re built to last for sure. I mean, just look at what the Taliban drives. They aren’t using Fords, that’s for sure.

I had to check your post history to make sure you’re real, because who still asks if Toyota/Lexus are reliable? It’s like common knowledge at this point.

@Vern
I don’t see the point in asking that either, but I guess some people still need convincing.

It’s like arguing that a steak dinner is better than a Big Mac. Everyone knows! Ford might make a cool Mustang here and there, but they’ve got nothing on Toyota. Ford’s assembly lines are a mess; it shows in their vehicles. Just look at any repair forum, people are constantly talking about Ford issues, like leaky moonroofs ruining the interiors. Meanwhile, Toyotas just keep going.

Bees don’t try to convince flies that honey is better than trash.

Honestly, it’s hard to see why anyone would still be debating this.

Hey, you might want to check out the top posts on this forum’s car sales section. Lots of great info there too!

Mods really need to step up and clean this place up!

@Vern
It’s probably just some guy who loves BMWs and can’t understand reliability.

Haha, not even close!

You know those old 1980s Toyota trucks you see down in Mexico? Completely gutted interiors, barely holding together with duct tape and prayers, yet somehow, they’re still running. That’s Toyota for you.

@Zia
15k, don’t lowball me, I know what I’ve got!

More like 150 dinars, lol.

@Zia
Actually, just to clarify, the T100 was a 90s model. The 80s one was literally just called the ‘Pickup’ in the USA. Outside of the US, it’s the Hilux. My family has both a Lexus GX and a 91 Pickup, so I know a bit about it.

@Hartley
Yeah, they featured a Hilux on Top Gear in that ‘Killing a Toyota’ episode. Even after everything they threw at it—fire, water, smashing it into a building—it wouldn’t die.

@Hartley
Yeah, not buying that.

@Zia
Why associate Mexico with narcos? Just say Mexico. People are quick to throw around stereotypes without thinking about it.

It’s not racist to mention that Mexico has a lot of narco trafficking. It’s just the reality of the situation, considering a lot of it flows through Mexico to reach other places. But yeah, you could phrase it differently.

@CorollaChris4
Calling a place a narco-state isn’t racist, it’s just the truth.
