Hey everyone, I was super excited to get my brand new 2025 Camry, but things went bad fast. The car started showing this error message on the first day. It’s now with the dealer, and they’re checking it out, but they seem pretty casual about it like it’s a used car or something. Do I have to just accept whatever they say, or can I make sure the car is truly fixed? I’m really confused and looking for any advice on how to handle this. Thanks!
Let the dealer take a look at it first. In the meantime, you should read up on the Lemon Law in your state. For example, in Ohio:
- If one attempt to fix a major issue fails, or
- The car is in the shop for more than 30 days during the first year, or
- Three or more attempts are made to fix the same problem and it still isn’t fixed.
But I wouldn’t rush to get a lawyer just yet. See what the dealer says first, and hopefully, things will get sorted out.
They’re eating cars now, and kids too.
They’re eating the frogs and bats too.
Toyota Care comes with roadside assistance. Call the 800 number for a free tow to the nearest dealer, and they’ll fix it.

OP already said the car is with the dealer.

What more advice do you need? Just let the dealer handle it.

You heard the car, ‘Visit the dealer.’

Same thing happened to me within 24 hours of getting the car. They eventually fixed it, but I went through the Lemon Law process and am waiting on a replacement. You should open a case with Toyota and another case for a replacement, just in case. It took them 2 months and 3 tries to fix mine. Was your car still drivable when this happened?

While waiting for the replacement, were you still able to drive the original one, or did they give you a loaner?

I’m dealing with the same issue on my 2020 RAV4 Hybrid. They replaced the HV cable for the rear motor, but the problem came back after a month. Do you know what caused yours?

They think debris from the fuel line got stuck in the fuel rail. They replaced the fuel rail, hoses, a fuel module, and the main computer. The issue only happened after driving for about 30 minutes, letting it sit, then driving again for 30 minutes. It didn’t show up during regular test drives. They had to attach a separate fuel pressure gauge to spot the problem.

Was all that covered by Toyota, or did you have to pay?

It was all covered under warranty for the 2025 Camry.

Since it’s a 2025 model and a hybrid, I’d go with what Toyota recommends. A non-Toyota mechanic probably won’t be able to help much with a brand-new hybrid.

Cars today are such a hassle. You spend $50k on a computer on wheels.

And so it begins. Just got my 2019 XSE back from a month in the shop for wiring issues.

They told me the pump needs to be replaced and have ordered the part.
