Yesterday, I bought a 2025 Camry XLE (came with LoJack) for $35.5K MSRP. After taxes, title, registration, and doc fees, it came out to $39.5K in Georgia. Now I’m feeling like I overpaid and I can’t stop thinking about it. Did I get ripped off or is this just how it is now?
That doesn’t seem crazy high to me. People love posting the wildest discounts online, but not everyone gets those. You already bought it, so why stress? You’ve got a great new car, enjoy it!

Car is solid, but I keep seeing others pay closer to $35K and it’s making me feel like I got played.
@Eliot
I think your price is fair, especially in Georgia with the doc fees. I paid around $37K OTD for my ‘25 SE after adding gap insurance. You got a higher trim, so it makes sense. It sucks, but cars are expensive right now.
@Eliot
Congrats on the new ride! If you took out a loan, making extra payments can help bring the cost down faster.

Yeah, I plan on paying it down quicker to save on interest.
@Eliot
Just for your peace of mind—I bought my 2024 SE last year for $34k out the door! (That’s $31.5k MSRP plus tax, doc fees, and tint.) And honestly, I’ve never lost sleep over someone else getting a better deal . I still love it just as much after a year of driving!
Pricing can depend on options and location, so if you couldn’t find a better deal in your area at the time, why stress about it now?
@Micah
If I had gotten it closer to $35K, I wouldn’t be stressing so much. But dropping nearly $40K on a Camry is messing with my head.

The 2025 models are all hybrids now, so that bumped up the price. From what I’ve seen, your price isn’t out of line. You’ll probably love it once you stop thinking about the price.
@Micah
Which SE package did you go for?

I get why you feel that way, but car prices are just up right now. Instead of focusing on the price, think about what you’re getting. If it’s got all the features you want and will hold value well, it’s a solid buy. Camrys aren’t cheap anymore, but they last forever.
Maybe you could’ve gotten another $1K or $2K off, but these cars are in demand, and not all dealerships are discounting them. You didn’t get a bad deal.

I’m okay with that kind of difference, but I keep wondering if the Camry is even worth this much. I checked out Tesla too but ended up going with this since my old Prius got totaled and I needed a car fast. Feels like I might’ve overpaid by $4K–$5K.
@Eliot
Is it FWD or AWD? I’m in the Northeast and got an XLE AWD at invoice price, which put me at $38K OTD. Camrys have gotten pricey, but that’s just how it is now.

Mine is FWD.
@Eliot
What features does it have?

Just the base XLE with LoJack and some accessories like all-weather mats. MSRP was $37.5K, but they gave a $2.5K discount, then added $1.5K for LoJack, $1K in fees, and $2.6K in taxes. I guess I could’ve avoided some of those extras.
@Eliot
Base MSRP for the FWD XLE is $33.4K. The LoJack probably bumped it up a lot.

Yeah, after adding LoJack and the extra fees, it ended up higher. I probably could’ve saved $2K, but it’s not the worst.
Honestly, I’m more surprised that LoJack is still a thing than I am at the price.
