I was stopped at a red light when someone who wasn’t paying attention slammed into me doing about 40 mph. The hit was so hard it pushed me into the car in front, and that car hit the one in front of it too. The damage looks pretty bad to me, but I’ve never been in a crash this serious so I’ve got no clue how much repairs usually run. Waiting on my insurance to check it out, but I’m super stressed. I really love my car. Think it’s gonna be totaled?
If you haven’t already, go get checked by a doctor.
I got rear-ended 6 years ago, thought I was fine, but now I’ve got headaches and back pain that won’t quit. Same kind of hit. I can’t even handle lights in my office now.
@Blaze
This is smart advice. Your car can get fixed or replaced easy, your body… not so much.

Yeah, I blacked out for a second in mine and woke up like 30 feet ahead. Felt fine at first, but over time little things started adding up. Insurance covered my car, medical bills, and a small payout… but man, I should’ve talked to a lawyer back then. I wasn’t thinking clearly.
Took about a month before I felt mentally back to normal too. My job almost fired me till I showed them doctor’s papers. Looking back, I could’ve pushed harder but oh well.
Yeah that’s a total loss for sure.
Glad you’re okay. Could’ve been way worse. That’s a nasty hit, probably frame damage too. Hope everything works out for you, man.
Same thing happened to us with our 2021. Luckily had a hitch on back—ripped the other car’s radiator clean out.
Yeah she’s done. But you should get a good payout from insurance.
RIP. Go grab a 2024 while you still can.
This is exactly why I leave a ridiculous amount of space in front of me at stoplights. Rear gets hit, might be fixable. Both front and back crushed? Gotta shop for a new car.
Oof. Reminds me of when my blue pearl ‘19 Sport got T-boned. Still miss that car.
Glad you’re okay. Same thing happened to my 2017 Forester just last week. Got rear-ended at a light, pushed me into the SUV ahead. Damage looks almost identical. Pretty sure yours is totaled like mine was. Forester kept me safe though. Still deciding between another Forester or trying an Outback now
Might not be totaled. Depends if the damage went past the rear bumper bar. Tailgate, lights, bumper—those can all be swapped out.

Nah man, wouldn’t want this one back. Even if they fix it, it’ll never drive the same again. Plus all the sensors in the back…
@frank
Not that many sensors really—blind spot, parking sensors, backup cam. Easy enough to replace. Bigger worry is if the body got bent. Though yeah, original poster said they got pushed into another car too, so that might mess with things more.
Faulkner… was this on 83 or 30 by any chance?

Nah, happened on 34.

My parents go to Faulkner for their Subaru, but the one in Bethlehem. Glad the person who posted this is okay!
Damn, is it totaled…
Ouch man. Same year, color, and trim as mine—feels personal seeing this. Mine got hit last month too and just came back from repairs.
