Hey everyone, I’m looking into buying a 2025 Toyota Camry and was wondering if Toyota’s extended warranty is worth it. Did anyone here get it for their Camry, and if so, how much did you pay?
Would appreciate any advice. Thanks!

You’re buying a Camry. Why would you even need the warranty? It’s one of the most reliable cars out there.
I just got my 2025 Camry last Saturday and declined the warranty. I was second-guessing it, but after reading what others are saying here, I feel better about my decision.
If you do get it, don’t buy it at the time of purchase. You can extend the factory warranty any time before it expires. Some dealerships offer better pricing if you shop around.

I got an extended warranty for my 2018 Camry in 2022 when I refinanced. They gave me a 5-year, 50k-mile plan (I think), whichever came first.
Not worth it.
My 2021 Camry started having weird issues at 55k miles—battery needed replacing, transmission shuddering in the cold, and some vibrations at different speeds.
I’d get some kind of coverage, just in case. You never know what day your car was built.
@Landyn
A new battery after 3-4 years is normal. 55k miles is also around the time to change your transmission fluid. Just keep up with maintenance.

Yeah, I took it to the dealership for a transmission fluid change, but they made me wait 3 hours without even touching it. Ended up going somewhere else.
I do my own oil changes every 5k miles, and honestly, a battery dying after 3 years seems too soon. My other Camry of the same model year has had zero issues. If you’re not mechanically inclined, getting the warranty might be a good idea.
I got the extended warranty for $2,500. Covers 7 years or 100,000 miles. Hopefully, I never need it, but it gives me peace of mind. Modern cars have a lot of electronics that could fail.

Same here. They convinced me with that same reasoning, but looking back, I wish I had said no.

Most of what the warranty covers would already be replaced by Toyota under the regular factory warranty. You’re mainly paying for extra coverage after 5-7 years, which most people won’t even use. That’s why they’re happy to sell it to you.
@Hollis
If I trade in the car before the warranty ends, I believe they refund the unused portion, prorated.
If you’re considering it, check out https://fd-warranty.com/. It’s a Toyota dealership that sells volume warranties and offers better pricing than most local dealers. Got mine through them and saved a good amount.
If you’re going to buy the warranty, say no a few times first. When I bought my Camry, the finance guy kept pushing it. I kept saying no, and the price dropped from $3,000+ to under $1,000. Still didn’t buy it, though.
I was never a fan of extended warranties, but newer cars are so complicated. I have three Toyotas, and the only one that’s needed non-routine maintenance is the newest one. I’m considering it, but I want to see if it covers the hybrid battery.
@Clovis
Toyota’s hybrid batteries last a long time. My 10+ year-old Prius is still on its original one. The newer lithium-ion batteries in the 2025 models should hold up even better. I wouldn’t worry about it.
I have a 2018 Camry with 31k miles and zero issues. My sister’s 2019 model has a failing transmission at 126k miles. Next time, I’m getting an extended warranty just in case.
I never buy the warranty. Huge waste of money.
I’ve put 80k miles on my Camry in a year with zero issues.
I got the 10-year extended warranty when I bought my 2020 Camry XSE. Knowing I don’t have to pay for regular maintenance like oil changes, filters, and tires gives me peace of mind. Some people say it’s not worth it, but for me, it is.
