I was all set to buy this Tacoma, and then the seller sent me this picture on the day we were supposed to meet. Now he’s not responding. What could be going on here?
Guess you got ghosted, man. Sorry, no new Tacoma for you. Hope you find another one soon.

Pretty sure he just bailed because he got a better offer. Tried calling and texting since yesterday, and now the ad is gone too.
@Orion
Yeah, that sucks. Could be anything from second thoughts to repair costs. If he took the ad down, probably not another buyer…but who knows.

Looks like he just turned the key to ‘on’ without starting the engine. The warning lights you see pop up are normal in that situation. Maybe he just didn’t want to sell.
@Vick
I was thinking the same thing!
@Vick
Makes sense. Probably just got cold feet.
@Vick
Would that explain all the warning lights though?

Yeah, when the key is in the ‘on’ position without the engine running, the check engine light and charging system error pop up. Looks like he didn’t want to show the tachometer at 0 to keep it believable.
@Vick
Ah, makes sense now. Thanks for explaining! I’ve had similar panic moments myself.
Manual? Happens when it stalls.
@Orion
Probably got cold feet. It happened to me once—I posted an ad, got an interested buyer, and then realized I didn’t really want to sell. At least I was honest about it.

Same here. People used to ask about my old Tacoma, and I’d just throw out a crazy high price to keep them from buying it!
@Orion
Sorry, man. It’s rough when people play games like that.
@Orion
I might have to try this next time.
@Orion
Notice you can’t see the tach? My Tacoma shows these warnings when the engine is off and the power’s on. Looks like he got a better offer.
@Orion
Yeah, wish he had just been upfront instead of faking an issue.
Battery, alternator, or maybe just a fuse. If he’s dropping it off at a shop, see if they’ll let you inspect it there too.

Yep, classic case of seller’s remorse.
