@Dax
A lot of the folks who loved the old 2010s STI hatch and sedans are older now. Many of them have moved on to Crosstreks, Foresters, or Outbacks, like I did. Peopleâs needs change as they get older.
@Sayer
Funny enough, I saw an 86 on the lot along with a Crosstrek. Ended up with the Crosstrek because I needed more space than my old Civic could offer. Plus, the Crosstrek was way cheaper.
@Tim
It seemed like nobody in my area wanted a BRZ. Itâs a really nice dealership, but the area is more blue-collar with a lot of plants, so people mostly buy trucks and SUVs. Felt like I found a hidden gem!
@Kieran
Makes sense. In my area, the car scene is pretty big, so demand for sports cars is always thereâjust not in winter, of course. During my search, I even heard a guy tell his salesperson, âIâll pay any markup for a tS.â Couldnât believe it! Luckily, my dealer didnât bring up any extra fees.
Sticker was $37,500, I paid $34,500. Feels like a solid deal considering how scarce they are.
The scarcity is mostly because Subaru focuses on selling Outbacks, Crosstreks, and the like. Thatâs their core market. You can even pay over $40k for a fully loaded Wilderness model. When I got my BRZ, I just ordered it straight from Subaruâs websiteâtook about 3 months to arrive.
