Hey fellow Toyota fans! So I was having breakfast and got to thinking… since both the Prius and Camry are hybrids, why would someone go for a Prius instead of a Camry? I know the Prius might be a bit cheaper, but other than that, what’s the draw? Would love to hear your thoughts!
The Prius is a little cheaper, has better fuel economy, and it’s smaller, making it easier to park in crowded areas. It’s also been around forever in the hybrid world, so some people just trust it more. Personally, if I had to choose, I’d probably go with the Camry too.

I didn’t realize the Prius was more fuel efficient, but it makes sense since it’s smaller. I’m a bigger guy and love the interior of the Camry, so I’d go that way too. And yeah, the Prius definitely has that name recognition going for it.
Don’t forget the Prius is a hatchback, so it has more trunk space.

Wow, didn’t know that either. The trunk in my brother’s 2018 Camry is pretty spacious too.
Prius is more compact. Some people see that as a plus. It’s also got a unique design that appeals to certain folks.

Got it. So it’s mostly about the design and size.

Pretty much. Their mileage differences are usually pretty small too.

Yeah, people said it’s a small difference.
I just like the bigger space in the Camry compared to the Prius.

Same here. The Camry is such a smooth drive. Can’t say about the Prius though.
They’re really different cars. My mom had a Camry and thought she’d get another one, but ended up with a 2023 Prius instead. Lots of differences—just depends on what you want. The Corolla’s another option that’s kinda in between. Best to check out both at a dealership to see what fits you.

Does the Prius have more tech features?

I’m not sure since they just redesigned the Camry for 2025. I know my 2023 Prius has a lot of tech, but it depends on the trim. Best bet is to compare on the Toyota website or see them in person.

Prius isn’t even in the same league as the Camry. The Camry wins on performance, comfort, reliability, and safety!

Exactly why I’m asking why anyone would pick a Prius. Camry wins in so many ways!

I really like the look of the new Prius compared to the Camry. But I still went with the Camry for the size and smooth ride.

The new Prius does look kinda cool, but I still prefer the older Camrys.

Camry isn’t available as a plug-in hybrid, and that’s a dealbreaker for me.

Oh, I thought the newer Camrys had that option. My bad.
